OK, here's the good stuff! The following spots are in three different
formats (more information at right).
MP3 Very high quality sound, but large
file sizes (about 1000K). Best for high bandwidth users with
DSL, ISDN or Cable Modems (or anyone with patience).
High Bandwidth RealAudio G2 High quality sound, medium file sizes (about 500K). Best
for high bandwidth users or those with 56K modems who want
the best possible sound in a quicker download.
Low Bandwith RealAudio G2 Smallest file sizes, lower sound quality (about 250K).
Best for those with slow modems.
MP3
compresses audio to about 1/10th the original file size,
with little drop in quality. The files are still fairly
large (about one megabyte apiece) so you need either a fast
Internet connection or a good helping of patience.
Need
an MP3 player to listen to the spots? For Macintosh, try
Audion.
For Windows, try Winamp.
The RealAudio
G2 Player (see below) also plays MP3 files.
RealAudio
G2 is a streaming audio technology, meaning you can listen
to the audio play while it's downloading. The faster your
Internet connection, the better quality spots you are able
to listen to. We have encoded our spots for both slow and
fast connections, and you can choose whichever one suits
you best. If the fast connection seems to pause or take
too long, try the slower version.
If
you don't have the RealPlayer G2 application (these spots
won't play with the older player) you can download it free
-- just click on this handy-dandy logo:
If
you think we should be providing on-line spots in a different
format, please drop
a note to our webmaster.
And
remember, the best way to experience our radio spots is
by requesting a copy of
